
Remued Melbourne Centenary jug 1934
This Remued jug was issued for the Centenary of Melbourne in 1934. On one side is a sprig moulded portrait of John Batman, one of the founders of Melbourne. The depiction of Batman was originally sculpted by Margaret Kerr (1898-1958), who had studied under Merric Boyd. On the reverse of the jug is incised "Souvenir of Melbourne 1934". The jug stands 123 mm in height and measures 77 mm in diameter across the base. It is in very good condition apart from some crazing.
