It features a domestic scene where a man is helping his wife wind a ball of wool from a skein. The Plaue factory was one of the larger manufaturers of lithophanes. This one measures 177 mm (7 inches) in height, 140 mm (5.5 inches) in width and is in very good condition. It is impressed with the letters PPM and the model number 1071. It would date from around 1870.
