Very large Martin Boyd hand painted wall plaque
Dated 1950, this large Martin Boyd wall plaque is decorated with a hand painted scene of a town square in Holland. This is one of the largest of the Martin Boyd wall plaques, measuring 390 mm in diameter. It has retained its original hanging loops and wire, but it would look equally as good on a stand.
The condition of this plaque is very good apart from some crazing. It is signed on the back "Martin Boyd 1950". The Martin Boyd pottery was run by brothers Guy and David in Sydney from 1946-55. They were part of the hugely talented Boyd family, with their brother Arthur also making pottery and later achieving fame as a painter.
