French silver gilt scent bottle stand

This delightful French scent bottle or dressing table stand was made by Antony Salomon in Paris in around 1905. It comprises four etched quarter circle scent bottles with silver gilt collars and tops. They are arranged around a central powder bottle with a silver gilt collar and domed lid topped with an acorn like finial. These are housed in a round silver gilt stand. All the silverwork features a wavy engine turned pattern enhanced with punched stippling and applied silver mounts. Salomon has applied his own stamp to the piece and there are several French control marks featuring the head of Minerva which indicates the silver is of .950 quality which is slightly higher than the English sterling silver standard. Each of the bottles has an engraved ribbon and leaf motif to the outside, with stylised flowers to the shoulders. The piece is 123 mm (4 7/8ths inches) in diameter and stands 130 mm (5 1/8th inches) high. There is some minor damage to three of the bottles. One has a chip to the base, one chips to the side, corner and shoulder and the third has a very minor chip to the shoulder.
