Four hand painted and gilded Limoges dessert plates

These four hand painted and gilded porcelain dessert plates with a scalloped edge are by the firm of Gerard, Dufraisseix and Abbot, who were known as one of the best producers in the Limoges region of France. The central decoration is of a spray of flowers and foliage done in autumnal tones which is surrounded by a partial pink ground and a cobalt blue and gilt rim. They have a diameter of 215 mm (8.5 inches) and stand 25 mm (1 inch) high. They are in very good condition, but one plate has two small chips to the front of the rim. They would date from around 1905.
