Charles Wilton lidded jar
After throwing this lidded jar on the wheel, Charles Wilton has decorated it by dipping it in a chocolatey brown glaze, then wiping away small random areas to expose the orange coloured clay underneath. Wilton (1916-2000) was one of the co-founders of the Potters Cottage in Warrandyte in 1958 and retired in 1992. This thickly potted jar stands 180 mm high and has a diameter of 145 mm. It is in very good condition with only a tiny chip to the lid rim to detract from it. It would date from the 1970's.
