Amazing Bespoke wall art, Circa 1970.
This beautiful piece has a long history where life began in Greece on a farm where men hunted these rabbits and brought them home to their wife's. The fur was sewn together over many years to create the multi colour artwork. A gentleman on a trip to Greece in 1970 was captured by the work and history and made an offer too good to refuse and brought it home to Australia. Upon visiting my friend in 1980, I too was captured by this amazing piece and I offered to buy it. With so much reservation over 2 years he finally accepted with a phone call. With so much excitement I wanted to hang it, yet the weight and its delicate nature required some consideration. I took it to a Fourier and had it fully lined to support the individual pieces, yet it required far more support to hang. I then fixed it onto an MDF board and then walah it was now secure and it proudly hanged on my wall ever since and it became a conversation piece in my drawing room ever since.
This piece is large and has a some presence for those who are looking at making an impact in their decor. It can be placed in any Commercial or Residential application with the only limitation is your imagination. I hope this historical piece will continue its journey, while I down size to my travelling journey ahead.
