This extremely rare Peanut lamp represents a compelling chapter in the Fog & Mrup story. While the Peanut name is often associated with earlier glass designs by Bent Karlby, this all-metal edition emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It reflects the bold, architectural shift directed by Jo Hammerborg, who served as Fog & Mrups head of design from 1957.

Under Hammerborgs exacting eye, the company moved away from soft, traditional diffusers toward the Space Age aesthetic, prioritising spun aluminium, precision-engineered joints, and directional lighting that could define a space rather than just fill it.

Originally designed as a wall-mounted sconce, we have carefully reimagined this piece for the modern Australian home. By integrating a premium Australian black braided lead, we have created a versatile hybrid. It functions flawlessly as a desktop task light or a bedside lamp, while the original mounting bracket remains intact for those who prefer its classic wall-fixed silhouette.

A genuine Danish artifact from the golden era of Fog & Mrup, this piece has been meticulously restored and updated for the contemporary Australian interior. It features the signature Hammerborg-style adjustable knuckle joint, allowing for precise 180 rotation and tilt to meet any functional requirement. The original metallic finish is now paired with a new, tactile black fibre braided lead and an Australian plug, creating a sophisticated textural contrast. To complete the restoration, we have included a high-quality Edison globe that provides a warm, amber-toned glow against the industrial lines of the spun metal shade, ensuring the lamp is fully rewired, tested, and tagged to Australian standards.
