A set of 6 original and authentic Jacob Kjaer Dining Chairs from the 1930's.
Jacob Kjær (1896–1957) was a Danish furniture designer and cabinetmaker, who completed his training in Berlin and Paris and exhibited works at the Barcelona World Exhibition in 1929. Inspired by classical English style, his designs are characterized by their simple, clean forms that are, nevertheless, modern in their interpretation. Kjaer used only the finest materials and crafted them himself - highly unusual at the time. He is considered one of the finest Danish designers and did much to enhance the reputation of the Danish furniture industry.
It is likely that this set was crafted by Kjaer himself.
These are solid Oak and possess original cream leather studded seats. Each chair has square sectioned legs with H-stretcher support.
