
Rare Danish Modern Flemming Digsmed for Nissen Solid Teak Nutcracker & Bowl, circa 1970’s
Description: this piece is in the very rare larger size (pre Bodum iteration), this mid century to modern Danish nutcracker and bowl by Flemming Digsmed for Nissen is made of solid staved teak. The rounded corners and large scale of the set make this ensemble a fabulous accessory and edition to any interior looking to use natural tones with a nod to the 1970’s.
Designed by Flemming Digsmed for Danish wood manufacturer Richard Nissen, Langaa. The nutcracker is made of steel with handles of solid teak. Not just a functional object for ‘nutters’ but also a sculptural 1970’s Danish design icon.
Signed with stamp to the base.
Dimension: L 175 mm x W 175 mm x H 98 mm
Condition: mostly in very good vintage condition, minor wear to the ends of the tongs and faint mark to the inside of the bowl and one of the recessed holders, all visible in the images provided.
