Pair of Early 20th Century Louis XVI Style Fautiels
ach chair features a carved and gilded beechwood frame of exceptional quality, the arched cresting rail surmounted by a central foliate and floral cartouche of pierced acanthus work, above a moulded frame enriched with a continuous band of egg-and-dart and bead-and-reel carving.
The serpentine-shaped padded back, seat and open arms upholstered in warm bisque suede, the shaped arm supports carved with scrolling acanthus terminals on incurved supports. The seat rail decorated en suite with the back frame. Raised on tapering fluted legs headed by foliate carved blocks, terminating in toupie feet.
