Cordon Salon, a studio that uses research, collaboration and experimentation as a method to speculate on alternative approaches to contemporary art, craft and design. Founded in 2018 the studio works across collectable furniture and object design, often focusing on overlooked, forgotten or ubiquitous processes and materials, in which re-imagined are shown again in a different light.

Cordon Salon has developed work for local and international clientele and exhibited widely across Melbourne Design Week, Melbourne Design Fair, Sydney Design Week & Craft Contemporary. Exhibited at Sophie Gannon Gallery, Oigall Projects, Craft Victoria and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia as part of the History-making exhibition Melbourne Now.

These hand-poured mirrors, born from a specialised artisanal practice dating back centuries, exemplify the quality and beauty of work that Cordon Salon creates with their producing partners. This commitment to seeing traditional craft practices extend into the contemporary design context, and to create objects that infuse spaces with a solid sense of elegance and playfulness, is a vision shared and celebrated here among these friends and collaborators.
