Biedermeier Chest Of Drawers

A German Biedermeier chest of drawers in walnut with a triangular pediment, circa 1830s. The ebonised escutcheons, pediment molding, and decorative columns add interest, however, the original in-fills to the veneer are certainly the most charming features of this beautiful piece of furniture.

Dimensions: 120cm W x 60cm D x 93cm H

Condition: The inlays to the veneer on the top of the piece are not repairs but are original to the construction of the piece. At this time, finding and cutting such a large piece of veneer was often not possible. Gaps and holes in the veneer were patched to make up one large piece. The locks are not currently functional.
