Antique English Rosewood Folio Stand
This is a rare find in Australia. it is a genuine antique English 19th century later George IV / William IV period circa 1830 adjustable Folio Stand superbly crafted from top quality prestigious imported selected well figured Rosewood from Brazil now mellowed with age to a lovely mid honey colour.
Both sections of the frame are adjustable via brass hinges and a double ratchet mechanism. The squared latice like frames can be arranged horizontally to form a flat surface or vertically so as to hold maps, prints, paintings or documents etc.
Condition: Pieces like this have normally had a sheltered life in a specific room in a prestigeous home and like this one is in near perfect desirable original condition.
